MAX AV were initially asked to install a system into a sizable new extension comprising of a garden room, gym, office and guest bedroom with en-suite. The system incorporated lighting, heating, a concealed 60” plasma TV, Sky HD, a movie server, Apple TV, a digital audio server , CCTV, iPod docks, blinds, a security system and a network infrastructure worthy of any business.

On completion the owners were so pleased with the project that they asked us to extend it into the rest of the house. This was to prove trickier as the house is of such solid construction. The owners also wanted to retain the existing traditional light switches and fittings but be able to control them from the new Control4 system.

To keep disruption to a minimum the wiring was undertaken while the owners enjoyed a two week holiday. MAX AV then extended the system to allow the owners to access the same audio and video content that they had grown to love in the new extension, all over the house. With the clever use of Control4’s hidden in-wall switches and dimmers the lighting was also incorporated seamlessly into the project without altering the homes original beauty.

MAX AV won a Control4 EMEA “UK Project of the Year Highly Commended” award for this install and the project was later chosen to be featured on the front cover and inside the launch issue of Control4’s new magazine “Home Smart Home”!
